San Francisco

Having spent a few days based in San Francisco, I often saw various parts of it, either on foot, or while on buses or bus trips, I loved the city – here are just a few random snaps –

One of those places people talk about, and I went over. Ironically a couple of days before I go I saw a documentary that proved that the 2 brothers who disappeared, actually survived.

There was an audio walking tour for the prison … but I also saw objects from the 19 Century jail, and regimental living, as well as information about the Indian encampment in the 1970’s. They wanted to claim the Island as a separate country, however in the end they were able to win rights for Native Americans.

And so to location 2 in California.  I am now in San Francisco, and my first full day included a day trip to Yosemite.  An early start as it’s about 4 hours to get there – but pleased I made the effort

Southern California 2

Yes, I did see Mexico in the distance, but didn’t get a decent photo – so here are some of San Diego and Coronado

Southern California

For my last day in LA, I had booked a trip to Southern California.

The first stop was to see the caves and wildlife at La Jolla

Disney, Part 2

As I said, I had a 2 day ticket for Disney.  So this day was visiting the actual, original, Disneyland.  I didn’t stay for the parade as the heat was bad again, and the park was heaving – but still had fun.

Just love these benches –

Yes, I went on this ride … great fun and busy.  Yet again I was able to avoid a lot of the queue as a “single-rider”

Decided I wouldn’t pay the $3,000 for the Darth Vader suit – I have too much luggage as it is!

Some people ask am I going to ride again – well, I did!

I had booked a 2-day trip to Disney, which is only about a 10 minute walk from where I am staying.  So, day 1 I went to The California Adventure.

I am not someone who does heights, or anything that spins, but still had fun on some of the slower rides (and a couple of faster ones).  It was great to just take in the mad atmosphere.

However I left early afternoon as the temperatures are about 33’C, and my asthma is not happy!  But, I think I saw it all … here is a bit of a taster –

Yes, I wandered through this

A real fun ride … and great to get splashed as it was so hot!

So, how many of you worked out what the name of the Blog meant? I have left Oregon, and am now in California. Day 1 meant a trip around LA – plenty of photos, and a very hot day. Anyway, here’s a few –
